U.S. President Donald Trump expressed confidence in ongoing trade talks with China on Monday, saying he was receiving positive updates from officials in London, while maintaining a firm stance on export controls and economic pressure.

President Donald Trump voiced optimism on Monday as U.S.-China trade talks continued in London, saying he was receiving “good reports” from the delegation. He stressed the need to “open up China” but warned that no deal would be made without meaningful changes.

Asked about lifting export controls, Trump said, “We’ll see,” while criticising past administrations for failing to confront China. He noted a sharp drop in the trade deficit and reiterated his tough stance on economic policy, highlighting billions collected through tariffs during his first term.
