A 53-year-old man has been charged after a car was driven into a crowd during Liverpool FC’s trophy parade celebration.
Paul Doyle, from Liverpool’s West Derby area, faces multiple charges including causing grievous bodily harm with intent, wounding with intent, attempted grievous bodily harm, and dangerous driving, according to Merseyside Police.
The incident happened on Monday as thousands gathered in Liverpool city centre to celebrate the club’s Premier League title. The car hit people on Water Street, injuring 79 individuals, ranging in age from 9 to 78.
Seven people are still in hospital, all in stable condition.
