Two people were killed and nine others injured, including three teenagers, during a shooting on Monday night at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, according to police. The incident occurred during a Memorial Day gathering that drew a large crowd of adults to the park.
Authorities confirmed that both deceased victims were adults—one male and one female. All nine injured individuals are currently in stable condition. The exact circumstances leading to the shooting remain under investigation.
Police stated that no weapons had been recovered at the scene and no arrests had been made as of Tuesday. "We understand the significance of this event and we will make sure to provide an update on Tuesday," a police officer said during a media briefing.
