U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Washington is nearing a nuclear agreement with Iran, stating Tehran has "sort of" agreed to the terms, as fresh diplomatic talks continue.
President Donald Trump said that the United States is edging closer to finalizing a nuclear deal with Iran, suggesting that Tehran has "sort of" agreed to the proposed terms.
“We’re in very serious negotiations with Iran for long-term peace,” Trump said during his visit to the Gulf region, according to a pool report by AFP.
The comments come following a new round of talks in Oman between Iranian and American negotiators, aimed at bridging longstanding differences over Tehran’s nuclear program. While the discussions concluded without a breakthrough, officials confirmed that further negotiations are planned.
Despite expressing a preference for diplomatic solutions, both Washington and Tehran remain at odds on several critical issues, including Iran’s continued uranium enrichment.
