President Vladimir Putin has approved the list of delegates for the upcoming Ukraine talks in Istanbul, appointing his aide, Vladimir Medinsky, as the head of the Russian delegation for the negotiations on May 15, according to the Kremlin.
The full delegation includes:
Vladimir Medinsky – Assistant to the President of Russia (Head of the delegation)
Mikhail Galuzin – Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia
Alexander Fomin – Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia
Igor Kostyukov – Chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces
Additionally, four "experts" will also join the delegation, as confirmed by the Kremlin.
The composition of Kyiv’s delegation for the talks has yet to be officially announced, though Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he would "personally" await "Putin in Türkiye on Thursday" and would reveal the Ukrainian delegation once Russia does.
