Australian police have arrested former radio show host, Alan Jones, over allegations of indecent assaults spanning almost 20 years. TV footage from local media sees him in a police car entering a police station in Sydney.
According to media reports, former radio show host and Wallabies coach, Alan Jones, was arrested on Monday (November 18) following allegations he indecently assaulted, groped or inappropriately touched multiple young men over almost 20 years.
Jones, who has been in the radio business for about four decades, hosted the popular Sydney breakfast show on radio station 2GB for close to 18 years until 2020.
The arrest of an 83-year-old man in Sydney was confirmed by police. However, they did not name him.
Australian media identified him as Alan Jones, with TV footage on Monday showing him in a police car entering a police station.
Jones is popular in Australia for his conservative ideas, once grilling prime ministers on his show. He has been the subject of several legal suits for defamation.
