The U.S. State Department has approved the sale of aircraft equipment worth $404 million to Australia.
According to an official statement from the Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), a branch of the U.S. Department of Defence, the deal includes spare parts, maintenance support, as well as technical and logistical assistance to upgrade Australia’s MC-55A aircraft fleet.
The notification of the sale approval has been submitted to the U.S. Congress. The sale is expected to strengthen Australia’s capability for effective air operations while supporting regional stability without disrupting the military balance.
