An incident on Tower Bridge led to its closure on Monday morning after a man scaled the railings. The situation was resolved by around 12:30 pm when the individual safely returned to the ground.
Police confirmed the man was safely down, and the bridge was set to reopen shortly. In the meantime, the bridge was closed to both traffic and pedestrians, with the public advised to avoid the area.
Social media reports indicated that firefighters were on the scene, deploying a ladder to communicate with the individual. River traffic along the Thames was also reported to have been disrupted during the event.
This incident follows a similar situation over the weekend when a man spent over 16 hours perched on the Elizabeth Tower, home to Big Ben, leading to the temporary closure of Westminster Bridge.
