Jordan’s King Abdullah II says he reaffirmed the kingdom’s firm stance against the displacement of Palestinians during his recent visit to Washington.
During a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday (February 11), Trump discussed his plan to permanently relocate more than two million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
Trump has demanded that Egypt and Jordan take in the displaced Palestinians, threatening to withdraw aid from both U.S.-allied Arab states if they refuse.
King Abdullah emphasized the need to reconstruct Gaza without displacing its residents and urged efforts to de-escalate tensions in the West Bank.
He reiterated that a two-state solution remains the only viable path to lasting stability in the region.
