The European Union’s permanent representatives from all 27 member states have approved a suspension of the EU visa waiver for Georgian diplomats due to the country’s "diplomatic setback," a source from an EU delegation revealed.
"Yes, this morning, the permanent representatives agreed on the decision to suspend the visa waiver for holders of Georgian diplomatic passports," the source stated.
The decision now requires formal approval by the Council of the EU, which is expected during a meeting of EU foreign ministers on January 27.
