Global media leaders to gather in Shusha for 4th Media Forum

The 4th Shusha Global Media Forum will bring together nearly 160 media leaders, experts and officials from 54 countries in Azerbaijan's historic city of Shusha on 13-14 July, to discuss journalism’s role in peacebuilding, restoring public trust and tackling challenges.

Held under the theme “The Mission of Media in Promoting Peace: Restoring Truth and Rebuilding Trust,” the forum will focus on the future of responsible journalism in a rapidly changing information landscape.

The event is expected to bring together representatives of around 30 international news agencies, more than 60 leading media organisations, as well as nearly 10 international organisations and companies.

Key discussions on media, disinformation and AI

The two-day forum will feature panel discussions, bilateral meetings and interactive sessions focusing on the evolving role of media in today, especially with the rise of AI.

The forum aims to encourage responsible media practices and develop practical approaches to strengthening information integrity, digital cooperation and trust between societies.

Forum grows into global platform for journalism debates

The Shusha Global Media Forum was launched in 2022 with the International Media Forum on “Global Trends in the Media, New Challenges.” Since then, it has evolved into a major international platform addressing key issues shaping the future of journalism.

The first Shusha Global Media Forum in 2023 focused on “New Media in the Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution,” while the 2024 edition examined “Unmasking False Narratives: Confronting Disinformation.”

The 2025 forum explored “Digital Pathways: Strengthening Information and Media Resilience in the Age of AI.”

Across previous editions, the forum has hosted nearly 600 media representatives, experts and officials from 81 countries. It has served as a platform for discussions on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, media resilience and global efforts to counter misinformation.
