U.S. President Donald Trump has said the United States has a “virtually unlimited supply” of munitions and is capable of sustaining military action indefinitely, as the conflict with Iran entered its fourth day.
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, the President wrote that the country was “stocked and ready to win big!” adding that the U.S. could fight wars “forever.”
Speaking at a Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House on Monday evening, Mr Trump said the conflict with Iran could last between four and five weeks.
“We’re already substantially ahead of our time projections. But whatever the time is, it’s OK. Whatever it takes,” he said.
The remarks come amid shifting signals from the administration over the scope and duration of the military campaign.
While many Republican lawmakers have expressed support for the strikes on Iran, some prominent Make America Great Again (MAGA) supporters have voiced opposition. The divisions highlight potential political sensitivities as November’s midterm elections approach.
