Türkiye’s Trade Minister Omer Bolat said Friday that discussions in Washington with U.S. officials have strengthened efforts to expand bilateral trade, moving closer to a $100 billion target.

Bolat described his meeting with U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer as “productive” and said the talks covered Türkiye-U.S. economic and trade relations in detail.

“We believe our discussions have strengthened our shared commitment to reach 100 billion dollars in trade. Türkiye will continue to pursue a long-term, predictable, and mutually beneficial economic partnership with the United States,” Bolat said on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.

Later, Bolat met with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and business leaders, highlighting Türkiye’s steady economic growth, which has persisted for 21 consecutive quarters. He also emphasised the country’s investment potential.

“Our joint efforts will create more trade, investment, and employment opportunities for companies in both Türkiye and the United States,” Bolat added, expressing appreciation for American businesses supporting deeper commercial ties.
