Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met on Tuesday with a delegation from the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Parliamentary Assembly, marking the first visit to Ukraine by the group’s president, Pere Joan Pons.

Sybiha praised the OSCE’s “principled stance and strong support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity” during the meeting. He also briefed the delegation on the battlefield situation and Russia’s intensified attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

The discussions focused on strengthening the OSCE’s parliamentary dimension in responding to what both sides described as the greatest security threat in the region – Russia’s war against Ukraine.

The delegation and Ukrainian officials also addressed international efforts to return Ukrainian children deported to Russia, and explored the possibility of the parliamentary assembly joining the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.
