Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has described the attack on the Shostka railway station in Sumy region as a “savage Russian drone strike.” He said all emergency services are already at the scene, assisting those affected.
President Zelenskyy added that information about the injured is still being verified, but according to him, preliminary reports indicate at least 30 victims.
So far, one person has been confirmed dead, and several of the wounded are children.
Emergency services remain at the site, conducting search and rescue operations and providing assistance to survivors.
The attack comes as Moscow intensifies its campaign against Ukraine’s rail infrastructure, which has been targeted almost daily over the past two months.
