President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has arrived in the United States on a working visit to take part in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
He is among the heads of state and officials from across the globe attending the high-level gathering.
On Monday, President Aliyev, accompanied by First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, landed at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport, where they were received by welcoming officials.
The annual General Debate, running from 23 to 29 September, provides a platform for heads of state and government to address the Assembly.

This year’s debate carries the theme, “Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights.” The focus highlights the UN’s 80th anniversary, marking its establishment in 1945, and reinforces the call for renewed dedication to multilateralism, solidarity, and collective action in service of both humanity and the planet.
