Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have formalised a mutual defence agreement, reinforcing a decades-long security partnership, Pakistani state television reported on Wednesday.

The pact commits both nations to deepen defence cooperation and maintain joint deterrence against any external aggression. According to a statement from the Pakistani prime minister’s office, “any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both.”

Officials said the agreement reflects the shared commitment of Riyadh and Islamabad to regional stability and global security. It is expected to enhance military coordination and strategic collaboration between the two countries.

The move comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the region and underlines the longstanding security ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

This marks the first formalisation of a mutual defence framework between the two nations, highlighting growing defence cooperation beyond traditional alliances.
