A Russian missile strike the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv, injured at least seven people and caused extensive damage to homes and civilian infrastructure, highlighting the ongoing threat to southern Ukraine during continued attacks.
Mykolaiv Governor Vitaliy Kim reported that 23 private homes, 12 apartment buildings, and a post office were destroyed or heavily damaged.
There has been no immediate comment from Russia.
Ukraine’s air force said that overnight, Russia launched 76 attack drones and seven missiles, targeting eight locations across the country. Ukraine’s air defenses successfully destroyed 60 drones and one missile.
Though frontline regions like Mykolaiv were pushed back in late 2022, drone and missile strikes remain a constant threat.
Recent Russian attacks in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson killed at least three people and injured more than a dozen. A missile strike on Kyiv overnight caused no injuries or damage.
