The incident occurred around 10 a.m. local time near the town of Ambert in the Puy-de-Dome department. The vehicle, participating in a regional rally, struck spectators who had gathered along the course. The seriously injured person was taken to hospital, while several others at the scene were treated for shock.
Local officials said an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash. The prefect of Puy-de-Dome was en route to the site, and emergency services responded promptly to the incident.
