U.S. fighter jets intercepted a civilian plane near President Donald Trump’s Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club on Sunday. This marked the 11th unauthorised breach of restricted airspace over the weekend.

North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said the aircraft was safely escorted out of the area. Gen. Gregory Guillot, NORAD and U.S. Northern Command commander, warned that many pilots appear to ignore the required Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) before flights.

He stressed that armed fighter jets will intercept and guide offending aircraft out of restricted zones to ensure flight safety, national security, and the security of the president.
