Leandro Andrade equalised in the 29th minute, and Marko Janković put the home side ahead from the penalty spot ten minutes later. Chelsea then levelled again in the second half through Alejandro Garnacho, making it 2–2.
Both teams came into the match on 6 points, and the intensity stayed high throughout. Qarabağ looked to hold their advantage, while Chelsea pushed to take control, but neither side could find a decisive goal.
