A fire that broke out Thursday evening at the 'Azerbaijanfilm' studio in Baku has been brought under control, following an explosion reported in an old pyrotechnics area of the complex.
According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, rapid and coordinated efforts helped contain and extinguish the blaze in a short time. The incident occurred on the premises of the studio named after celebrated Azerbaijani director Jafar Jabbarli.
Initial reports indicated a strong explosion followed by a fire, prompting a swift response from emergency units after a call was received on the ministry’s 112 hotline.
Officials on the scene included Baku Mayor Eldar Azizov, Deputy Culture Minister Murad Huseynov, and the Director of the Azerbaijan Republic Cinema Agency (ARKA), Rashad Azizov.
Authorities confirmed that earlier claims about a separate incident at the 'Alov' plant were false and unrelated to this event.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the explosion and fire. No casualties have been reported so far.
