The 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) is set to be held in Khankendi, Azerbaijan, said Rovshan Mirzayev, Deputy Head of the Economic Cooperation Department of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Previously, the summit was scheduled to take place in Baku on July 3-4, 2025.
He noted that the upcoming summit in Khankendi will focus on “Sustainable Development and Climate-Resilient Economic Cooperation.”
The announcement was made during an event hosted by the Center for Analysis of International Relations, titled “Azerbaijan and the Economic Cooperation Organization: Opportunities and Prospects.”
Mirzayev highlighted Azerbaijan’s active role within the organization, stating that the country’s growing economic potential has laid a solid foundation for deeper cooperation with ECO member states.
Under the Chairmanship of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted the 16th ECO Summit on November 9, 2023 in Tashkent.
Currently ten countries from West and South Asia, Caucuses and Central Asia are Members of the Organization.
