Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture, Adil Karimli, met with his Kyrgyz counterpart, Mirbek Mambetaliev, in Bishkek to discuss cultural collaboration. Minister Mambetaliev praised Azerbaijan for its support in organizing the successful Kyrgyz Culture Days in Baku last April.
Karimli highlighted the joint participation of Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan at the groundbreaking of a school in the newly liberated Aghdam district, calling it a symbol of the strong ties between the two countries. He further emphasized the ongoing construction of the school as a meaningful gift from Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan.
Both ministers recognized the growth of cultural relations between the two nations through organizations like TURKSOY, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, and the International Turkic Academy, alongside their bilateral efforts. Karimli noted key cultural events, including the 2024 Kyrgyz Culture Days in Azerbaijan and the performance of the play "Dada Gorgud" by the Toktobolot Abdumomunov National Academic Drama Theater in Baku.
Azerbaijan expressed interest in expanding cultural exchanges, particularly in theater, libraries, and cinema. Minister Mambetaliev assured that Kyrgyzstan would continue its efforts to enhance cultural cooperation.
