Azerbaijan and Iran held consular consultations in Tehran, focusing on enhancing cooperation, protecting citizens' rights, and strengthening ties among migration, justice, and border agencies. The Azerbaijani side also met with Iran’s Deputy FM.
A new round of consular consultations between Azerbaijan and Iran took place in Tehran, led by Emil Safarov from Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry and Mojtaba Shasti Karimi from Iran’s Foreign Ministry. The discussions included representatives from both countries' embassies, consulates, and relevant government agencies, such as justice, internal affairs, migration, and border services.
The two sides reviewed the current state and future prospects of their consular cooperation, focusing on protecting the rights of citizens, improving legal and consular support, and addressing mutual challenges. They also emphasized strengthening collaboration among internal affairs, migration, and customs authorities.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation also met with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Vahid Jalalzadeh.
