During the meeting, the Chairman of the Sovereign Transitional Council of Sudan highlighted the historical ties between the two countries. He emphasized that Azerbaijan is an important country with significant influence both in its region and globally.
Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan Abdelrahman Al-Burhan expressed Sudan's strong commitment to developing relations with Azerbaijan across various fields and noted the good opportunities for cooperation in mining, oil, energy, infrastructure, investments, and other sectors.
The discussion also touched upon potential cooperation in the fields of education and training.
President Ilham Aliyev recalled with satisfaction Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan Abdelrahman Al-Burhan's participation in the 18th Summit of Heads of State and Government of Non-Aligned Movement member countries in 2019, where discussions were held. He noted that since then, relations between Azerbaijan and Sudan have been on an upward trajectory.
The meeting also addressed the organization of mutual visits by economic delegations to further expand bilateral relations, as well as cooperation within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement and other international organizations.
