Presidents’ Statements
🔹 Ilham Aliyev (President of Azerbaijan):
"The project we inaugurate today will ensure Nakhchivan’s energy security. Azerbaijani gas will reach Nakhchivan through Türkiye, solving this issue permanently."
"Our joint energy initiatives have enabled major transport projects like the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, strengthening the entire Turkic world."
🔹 Recep Tayyip Erdoğan (President of Türkiye):
"We are in full agreement with Azerbaijan on strategic energy projects. The Iğdır-Nakhchivan pipeline will ensure Nakhchivan’s energy supply for at least 30 years."
"This project complements our previous energy initiatives and reinforces our common destiny with Nakhchivan."
Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Partnership
The pipeline strengthens Azerbaijan-Türkiye cooperation, complementing the TANAP pipeline, which delivers Azerbaijani gas to Europe. Officials say the project will reshape the region’s energy map, making Türkiye and Azerbaijan a key energy bridge between Central Asia and Europe.
Gas flow is expected to begin soon, and the inauguration ceremony concluded with an Iftar dinner, as both nations celebrated the holy month of Ramadan.
