Around 69% of students on the Azerbaijani state scholarship chose Universities in the United Kingdom as their preferred place of study.
This was revealed by Peaches Brown-Senior, a UK Embassy official based in Azerbaijan during a gala evening marking 20 years of the UK Alumni Association in Azerbaijan and decades of bilateral relations between both countries.
Brown-Senior while speaking at the event noted that "Education remains one of the strongest pillars of relations between the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan.
Alumni of British universities in Azerbaijan embody the best aspects of bilateral relations and are leaders in their respective fields". she added.
According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026, the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge both rank in the top 5.
Business and Engineering emerged top choices of courses among Azerbaijani students in more than 160 universities in the United Kingdom.
