Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said key aspects of reopening regional transport routes have been resolved under the implementation framework of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative.
Speaking at a Cabinet meeting, Pashinyan described the framework agreement, approved this week, as a major step following the launch of TRIPP at a White House summit on 8 August 2025 involving Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and U.S. President Donald Trump.
He said the agreement lays the groundwork for reopening transport routes and advancing peace through practical cooperation, but stressed the need to translate political understandings into binding legal arrangements. Pashinyan said Armenia must establish a company named ‘TRIPP’ and define routes, land use, development rights and construction permits.
The prime minister reaffirmed Armenia’s readiness to ensure unimpeded transit between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic within the agreed framework, underlining political will to move beyond decades of conflict.
Pashinyan also warned that mistrust shaped by years of hostility continues to affect public discourse in both Armenia and Azerbaijan, dismissing claims that trade or fuel transfers could be used for military purposes as unfounded.
