Bishkek, 30–31 October – Nicat Guliyev, Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) JSC, participated in the 3rd meeting of railway administration heads from member states of the Turkic Council (TDT) held in Bishkek.
The discussions focused on issues stemming from the Shusha Declaration of 2024 and the Gabala Declaration of 2025. Key topics included the development of multimodal transport along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, digitalisation and promotion of railway, port, and logistics operations, expanding the capabilities of the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars (BTK) railway line, and harnessing the potential of the Zangazur corridor.
Participants also reviewed the current state and future prospects of freight transport by rail among TDT member states. Discussions covered tariff policies, infrastructure development, increasing the throughput of border crossings, and strengthening cooperation at junctions of national railway networks.
The meeting highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts to improve transport efficiency and enhance the competitiveness of transit routes within the TDT region. Establishing sustainable and uninterrupted transport chains across the region was underscored as a key priority.
The session concluded with a decision to further activate and strengthen the TDT railway working group. Regular meetings of the group are expected to ensure coordinated implementation of agreed decisions and initiatives.
