The trilateral meeting between Iran, Azerbaijan, and Russia aimed at strengthening economic and transport cooperation is considered a key platform for the region.
According to IRNA, these remarks were made by Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ismail Baghaei, during a press conference held in Tehran.
He noted that Iran, Azerbaijan, and Russia are leading states in the region, and the development of economic ties between them directly impacts transport and transit sectors.
Baghaei emphasised: “The trilateral meeting held in Baku is an important mechanism for regional coordination. This format helps align positions in the fields of economy, trade, and security. The ‘North–South’ International Transport Corridor not only fosters the economic development of these countries but also brings their peoples closer together, serving the national interests of all three states. Iran is ready to cooperate more closely with its neighbours to enhance the corridor’s operations.”
