President Ilham Aliyev and his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame had a one-on-one meeting in Baku, as Kagame pays a working visit to Azerbaijan.
President Kagame was welcomed to the country's capital by President Aliyev who held a guard of honour upon his arrival showcasing Azerbaijani hospitality.
President Kagame visted the alley of Martyrs where he paid his respects to Azerbaijani martyrs who lost their lives fighting for the country's independence and territorial integrity. He then laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.
Both countries signed various agreements aimed at increasing bilateral cooperation and strengthening ties. A press conference followed the signing of the agreements.
President Aliyev and President Kagame held one-on-one talks and then expanded discussions over a luncheon that included government representatives from both countries.
President Paul Kagame is on a three day official visit to the Caucasus country.
He had arrived earlier on Friday 19th September where he was welcomed by Azerbaijani deputy Pime Minister Samir Sharifov and Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev.
Kagame also visited Baku almost a year ago when he attended the COP29 United Nations Climate summit last November.
