In an exclusive interview with AnewZ, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reflected on the city’s resilience, the urgent task of reconstruction, and his deep respect for the unwavering spirit of its residents.
Terekhov spoke about the immediate priorities in the aftermath of destruction caused by the conflict.
“These destructions that occurred- we work to clear them away quickly, put things in order, and eliminate the damage. This is very important for us. People need help,” he said.
The mayor stressed that assistance comes from the city authorities, volunteers, and international organisations, expressing his gratitude to everyone contributing to what he called “this very important but difficult work.”
Asked about his video messages to Kharkiv’s citizens, Terekhov said his first words would be to thank Ukraine’s defenders and its people.
“First of all, of course, I want to thank our military. I will thank our people- the unbreakable people who stopped this aggression and who, in fact, with their lives and their will, have achieved victory,” he noted.
