Baku and Kyiv have signed an economic cooperation plan during the 13th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine as well as discussed gas supplies.
Commission's co-chairs - Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko - focused on Azerbaijani gas deliveries to Ukraine and the potential use of Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities.
“We are open to new formats of cooperation in the gas sector. Specifically, Ukraine is offering its underground gas storage facilities to serve as an international gas hub. Our storage facilities are the largest in Europe and are available to foreign companies under a customs warehouse regime,” said Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko as azertag reported.
In addition to signing the roadmap, both sides discussed further steps to deepen cooperation, including joint energy projects, the development of renewable energy sources, and the involvement of Ukrainian companies in the modernization of Azerbaijan’s energy infrastructure.

The Ukrainian delegation also expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s humanitarian aid, including transformers and equipment to support the rebuilding of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
“Kyiv places great importance on its strategic partnership with Azerbaijan. It was one of the first countries to support Ukraine with energy equipment. We are committed to strengthening our relations,” Halushchenko said, according to Report.
Azerbaijan was among the first countries to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine, delivering a total of $42 million in assistance. This included medicines, food, electrical equipment, and support for recovery and reconstruction efforts.
Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov stated that the adoption of the Action Plan within the commission would elevate bilateral cooperation to a new level and help unlock the full potential of partnership, including energy, minerals, and agriculture, as well as opportunities within industrial parks and free economic zones.

The next session of the commission is scheduled to be held in Kyiv.
