Baku hosts ICDO’s 3rd extraordinary General Assembly session

Azerbaijan opened the International Civil Defense Organization’s third extraordinary General Assembly in Baku on Thursday, with Prime Minister Ali Asadov reading a message from President Ilham Aliyev to delegates.

The Geneva-based ICDO, founded in 1931 and now counting more than 60 member countries, convenes extraordinary assemblies when pressing security or organisational issues require agreement outside its biennial cycle.

The Baku session will review proposals for a new global rapid-response fund and updated protocols on humanitarian access.
