Russia has approached Azerbaijan and Georgia with a request to import 600 MW of electricity in the event of an emergency, according to Alexandra Panina, a member of the Executive Board of Inter RAO.
"We have asked both countries - Azerbaijan and Georgia - about the possibility of supplying electricity. We are exploring the option of importing power and have inquired about the capacity of their power systems to provide emergency support," Panina stated.
She further explained that Russia has requested each country to be prepared to supply 300 MW of electricity if needed, though no formal responses have been received yet from either Azerbaijan or Georgia.
