7 Israeli soldiers killed after explosive detonates on armoured vehicle

An explosive device detonated on an armoured combat-engineering vehicle in Khan Younis in Gaza, killing seven Israeli soldiers and seriously wounding another soldier on Tuesday (24 June).

The Israeli military confirmed that the soldiers were killed in combat, marking one of the deadliest incidents in recent fighting.

Officials confirm that an officer and six Israeli soldiers died during clashes when their vehicle struck an explosive device and caught fire.

In a related incident, another soldier was seriously injured in the same area.

Since June, the Israeli military has reported that 19 soldiers have been killed during combat operations in The Strip.
