Iran has doubled its diplomatic efforts to fight back the military attacks by Israel and the US on its nuclear sites as Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Moscow on Monday for high-level talks with the Russian officials.

Araghchi flew from Istanbul to the Russian capital after taking part in the ministerial conference of the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC), meeting his counterparts on the sidelines of the event, and holding a press conference.
In the press conference, he thanked the OIC member states for condemning the attacks on Iran’s civilian nuclear sites which he slammed as the violation of internationally-recognized norms including the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Prior to his departure to Moscow, Iran’s top diplomat in a message on his X account addressed to European leaders said Iran did not leave the negotiating table, but it was the US that ruined it by attacking Iran amid a diplomatic process.

In Tehran, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) announced it has written a letter to the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi and applied for investigation into the US attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites.

The letter published on the AEOI website, also said Iran will take “legal action via international bodies” against inaction of the chief of the UN nuclear watchdog to condemn the attacks by Israel and the US as well as over his “collaboration” in their aggressions.

Iran argues that the resolution by the IAEA Board of Governors on June 12 criticizing Iran’s nuclear program was used a pretext by Israel to attack its sites and kill its nuclear scientist on June 13.
After the US joined Israel in attacking the Iranian nuclear sites on June 22, the Foreign Ministry sent a letter of protest to the Swiss Embassy in which it has condemned Washington’s attacks in support of Israel’s military aggressions.

According to the official IRNA news agency, the ministry said the US shall be held accountable for violating Iran’s territory and for attacking its civilian nuclear facilities.
The Swiss diplomatic mission in Iran acts as the US Interests Section after Washington cut its diplomatic relations with Tehran following the 1979 Islamic Revolution which ousted the pro-west shah.

Iran and the US were scheduled to hold their 6th round of indirect talks in Oman in which Iran’s substitute proposal to the US about nuclear enrichment was going to be discussed.
Their discussions were disrupted by Israel’s invasion which the Middle East watch experts said were a decoy to deceive the Iranian side that Tel Aviv will not attack Iran and also to buy time for the US attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
