At least two Palestinians were killed and others injured early Sunday in Israeli artillery and airstrikes in the Gaza Strip amid ongoing violations of a ceasefire.
Israeli artillery strike hit a gathering of civilians on Kashko Street in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, a medical source told Anadolu.
Palestinians, including women and children, were also wounded in a helicopter strike targeting an apartment building on Eidiya Street, west of Gaza City, the source said.
Elsewhere, Israeli gunboats shelled the Gaza City coastline, while artillery fire and helicopter gunfire targeted eastern areas of the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, according to the source.
Separately, hospital officials said Israeli strikes in Gaza City on Saturday killed at least 10 Palestinians, including three children, and wounded six others, among them four children aged 8 to 16.
The Israeli military said it had targeted Hamas infrastructure and identified Hamas operatives in the area, but provided no further details.
Meanwhile, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) declared the entire Gaza periphery region a closed military zone on Sunday ahead of a planned march by a right-wing group seeking to reestablish Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip.
In southern Gaza, a medical source said a Palestinian man sustained moderate injuries after Israeli forces opened fire near the Hamad residential complex, north of Khan Younis.
Eyewitnesses also reported Israeli artillery shelling in the Sheikh Nasser area and near the Bani Suheila roundabout, east of Khan Younis, though no casualties were reported.
Palestinians have described the ceasefire agreement as an "illusion" due to continued Israeli military operations, including shelling, incursions and restrictions on border crossings.
They said the limited flow of aid has worsened the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement have killed 1,127 Palestinians and wounded 3,643 as of Thursday.
The ceasefire agreement was reached after nearly two years of war that began on 8 October, 2023.
The conflict has caused widespread destruction across Gaza, with the health ministry reporting tens of thousands of deaths and injuries, along with severe damage to civilian infrastructure.
