Tehran residents walk past the ruins of buildings destroyed by U.S.-Israeli airstrikes. Meanwhile, groups of people gather on the streets of the Iranian capital holding flags of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The photos taken by Touraj Shiralilou on 4 March, 2026 provide a glimpse of daily life in the city of nine million, which has faced days of U.S. and Israeli attacks. Iran has responded by firing missiles at targets across the Middle East, including airports, shipping ports and U.S. military bases.
