The Palestinian group Hamas accused Israel on Sunday of repeatedly violating the Gaza ceasefire agreement, claiming that at least 46 Palestinians have been killed since the deal came into force on October 10.

“The Israeli occupation forces deliberately targeted civilians and opened fire on them in areas where movement was permitted, leading to the death of 46 people and injury of 132 others,” Hamas said in a statement.

According to the group, half of the victims were children, women, and the elderly, including members of the Abu Shaban family, which was “completely wiped out, including seven children and two women.”

Hamas described the violations as an attempt to undermine and sabotage the ceasefire, calling them “a continuation of Israel’s policy of aggression.” The group also said Israel continues to block the entry of essential goods — including meat, poultry, livestock, medical equipment, and construction supplies — needed for hospitals and infrastructure repairs.

The statement highlighted additional concerns, including delays in the release of women and minors in detention, incomplete lists of prisoners held, and the withholding of Palestinian bodies. Hamas said Israel returned the remains of 150 Palestinians, some of whom “were handcuffed, showed signs of strangulation, or were crushed under military vehicles.”

Despite these allegations, Hamas stressed its commitment to the ceasefire, saying it is implementing the agreement “with full precision and responsibility.” The group urged mediators and guarantors to ensure Israel respects the deal and halts violations that could undermine it.

The ceasefire and hostage swap deal, brokered on October 10 with input from US President Donald Trump, includes the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, as well as plans to rebuild Gaza and establish a new governing mechanism without Hamas.

Since October 2023, the Israeli military campaign has killed nearly 68,200 people and injured more than 170,200, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
