Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu will make an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran on June 7, 2025, following an invitation from the Iranian government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan announced on Monday.
During his visit, Nurtleu is set to meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and senior representatives of leading Iranian business sectors. The meetings are aimed at advancing political, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the talks will place special emphasis on:
- Strengthening political dialogue
- Expanding trade and investment ties
- Boosting transport and logistics connectivity
- Enhancing collaboration in energy and agriculture
- Deepening coordination within regional and international organizations
The visit reflects growing interest on both sides in improving regional connectivity, particularly in sectors such as transit corridors, where Iran and Kazakhstan play pivotal roles in linking Central Asia to the Middle East and beyond.
Observers view the upcoming discussions as part of a broader strategy by Kazakhstan to diversify its foreign partnerships and to strengthen economic links across Eurasia, especially through southward corridors that include the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC).
