Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and advancing cooperation in trade, transport, energy, and regional initiatives.
Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held talks in Tehran with the President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, as part of a working visit by the Turkmen delegation.
Minister Meredov conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In response, President Pezeshkian extended his own warm regards and good wishes to both Turkmen leaders.
The meeting focused on expanding the Turkmen-Iranian partnership across a broad range of sectors. The two sides discussed enhancing cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, transport, energy, investment, cultural, and environmental fields.
President Pezeshkian emphasized that joint investment projects and broader bilateral cooperation would serve the shared interests of both nations and help ensure their long-term prosperity, stability, and security.
The two leaders highlighted the strong level of collaboration in transport and transit, and stressed the importance of closer ties within international and regional platforms. In this context, they discussed the upcoming international conference scheduled for December 2025, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the strategic partnership for the benefit of the peoples of Turkmenistan and Iran.
