Kazakhstan’s Senate has approved a key agreement with the UAE to develop a 1 GW wind power station in the Zhambyl region, with plans to enhance renewable energy production and storage capacity. The project will create thousands of jobs and attract significant investments.

Kazakhstan's Senate has ratified an agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and the UAE for the development of a wind power station project. The agreement focuses on renewable energy, green technologies, and innovations aimed at enhancing electrical energy generation and storage.

The agreement paves the way for the construction of the second 1 GW wind power plant in the Zhambyl region. This new wind farm will incorporate one of the most advanced energy storage systems, with a 300 MW/600 MWh capacity, improving energy generation efficiency and the sustainability of Kazakhstan’s energy system.

The project is expected to create around 100 permanent jobs and 1,000 temporary positions, while also attracting $1.4 billion in investments. It aims to generate an additional 3.4 billion kWh of green energy annually, further strengthening Kazakhstan's energy infrastructure.
