Kazakhstan authorities has proposed to impose six-month ban on export of oil products
The ministries of energy, finance, internal affairs and the National Security Committee drafted a joint order addresing “some issues of export of oil products from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” national media reported.
The document has been posted for discussion on the "Open NLA” (Normative Legal Acts) platform for further discussion till 14th March. Exceptions will be made for the export of petroleum products under government-approved humanitarian aid programs and for the export of samples intended for scientific research."
Referring to the Ministry of Energy, Kazinform said that there is "an unusual increase" in the domestic consumption of AI-92 gasoline and diesel fuel which which may be linked to the illegal export of these products to neighboring countries. According to estimations of law-enforcement agencies, illegal export can range between 10,000 tons and 45,000 tons per month as fuel prices are 17% to 166% lower than in neighbor countries.
