China has issued high heat warnings across hundreds of regions as East Asia faces its most intense heat wave of 2025.

Authorities in China have issued high temperature warnings for 754 provinces, cities, and counties as a powerful heat wave continues to scorch East Asia.

China's heat alert remains in effect, with several regions upgraded to yellow-level warnings — one of the highest in the country's three-tier system.

In many areas, temperatures have already surpassed 40°C (104°F), while eastern China — the most densely populated region — is experiencing persistent heat above 35°C (95°F).

Meteorologists warn that the extreme conditions could persist for several days, putting millions at risk of heat-related illnesses and straining local infrastructure
