Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were found dead at their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, according to reports.
The Santa Fe County Sheriff confirmed their deaths, along with their dog, stating that foul play is not suspected but the investigation is ongoing.
Hackman, 95, had a prolific six-decade career, winning two Academy Awards, two BAFTAs, four Golden Globes, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. He won Oscars for The French Connection (1971) and Unforgiven (1992) and was nominated for Bonnie and Clyde (1967), I Never Sang for My Father (1970), and Mississippi Burning (1988).
Known for roles like Lex Luthor in Superman and performances in Runaway Jury and The Royal Tenenbaums, Hackman retired after his final film, Welcome to Mooseport (2004).
Authorities have not disclosed a cause of death as they await further investigation.
