Spanish police in Catalonia have detained Jonathan Andic, the son of Mango fashion group founder Isak Andic, as part of an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding his father’s death in December 2024, authorities said.

The Mossos d’Esquadra confirmed the detention on Tuesday (19 May).

A family spokesperson said Jonathan Andic was being questioned by investigators but declined to provide further details.

Isak Andic died in December 2024 after falling from a cliff while hiking in the Montserrat area near Barcelona with members of his family.

The case was initially treated as an accidental death. Spanish authorities have since continued to examine the circumstances of the fall as part of an ongoing judicial investigation.

The Andic family has previously said it believes Jonathan Andic is innocent following earlier media reports linking him to the investigation.

Investigation progress

Authorities have not publicly released further details about the evidence being considered, and the investigation remains ongoing.

No charges have been announced, and authorities have not disclosed additional information regarding the status of the proceedings.

Under Spain’s legal system, investigations of this type are conducted under judicial supervision before any formal decision is made on charges.
