A historical watch for the late Queen Marie Antionette of France is on display at the Science Museum: Royal Court of Versailles in London.

Designed in 1783 by Breguet, a watch designed for the Queen, Marie Antionette, is one of the most distinguished, and expensive ever made, with many features taking nineteen years to complete, exactly 9 years after the Queen was executed.

This device has features, previously known as complications, that let you hear the time on demand for the hour, quarter-hour, and minute. It includes a calendar that adjusts the years, a thermometer, and a second hand that works as a stopwatch.

The exhibition examines how scientific knowledge, along with horology, became common, fashionable, and a tool of power for France's enhancement during the 17th and 18th centuries.

More than 100 objects will be on show, including never before seen artifacts displayed in the UK. The exhibition will be open from December 12th and will continue until April 21st, 2025.
