Scarlett Johansson recalls how the original “Jurassic Park” deeply influenced her childhood as she premieres her role in “Jurassic World: Rebirth,” set to release on 2 July.
At the London premiere of 'Jurassic World: Rebirth,' Johansson shared with Reuters that seeing the first Jurassic Park movie at the age of 10 left a lasting impression.
“It imprinted on me very deeply,” she said. “For the next three decades, I was like, I would have done anything to be in a Jurassic movie in any capacity.”
The new film, directed by Gareth Edwards, centres on a team of specialists who venture to a forbidden island housing the original Jurassic Park research facility. Johansson stars alongside Jonathan Bailey who starred in the TV series Bridgerton, as they seek DNA samples from three dinosaurs to develop a life-saving medical treatment.
Rupert Friend, also part of the cast, described the film as an exciting adventure.
“I love adventure. I love being taken on a ride where you don't know what's going to happen. I love the unknown. I love risk,” he said.
Director Gareth Edwards admitted the pressure for the movie’s success became real only upon arriving at the premiere. “It’s all front and centre here. It feels a bit weird to be honest. I can't quite get my head around it,” he remarked.
'Jurassic World: Rebirth' will be released by Universal Pictures on 2 July.
